Kat Records

KAT RECORDS is a vinyl records store. The only in Perú (and the first) that officially brings and offer the Record Store Day and their exclusive album titles.

When Kat Records’s owner asked me to design their brand identity, also required the task of design a character that works as the brand mascot.

So he choose the well known Maneki-Neko (or japanese lucky cat), as a start reference.

So I created the cat at my own style, changing the gold coin the cat usually holds for a turntable spinning an Elektra vinyl record (Elektra is the record company The Doors worked with, and he’s one of the greatest band collectors).
