A long time ago, one of the heralds of the ancient, once forgot her oath to not interfere with the path of the human beings, revealing herself like a savior to them.

In those darkest times, people’s hope raised, and they called her The Awakener, but helping the wrong people by mistake, cause her ruin.

Condemned with a terrible curse, she was transformed into a demon, and was exiled into a dark void.

Once she were trapped into this new realm in darkness, she was offered to lead an army of wraiths, seeking from the shadows to bring a terrible revenge upon the deceit of the whole mankind.

I have the idea of the artwork but I had to search over internet for reference nude models to have structure, shape and proportion in order.

I work this time with the Pose Tool page (https://www.posespace.com/posetool/) and once the pencil sketch was done, I use a Tombow Fudenosuke pen to highlight some details on the drawing.
Again started from pencil sketch and finally drawing entirely with Adobe Illustrator pen-tool, no tablets, just mouse click.

This artwork as his mates on the collection, are about a parallel dimension inside our world, ruled by zombie, curvy and deadly demon-girls that live on it, watching us.

Again, the process started from a pencil sketch, and then I made a digital vector drawing for the final artwork.

The post The Tomb of the Crab Queen first appeared on Corpz.]]> This artwork was made specially for the collective art exhibition called “ORGULLO PERUANO”, where the main concept was the Peruvian culture, so I decided to work with the Mochica god Ai-Apaec, creating first a complete character -The Crab Queen- and a story behind it:

“There was once a gorgeous Mochica princess who always dreamed about ancient gods and great power. One day she made a pact with the god of war, Ai-Apaec, asking for eternal beauty over all creatures in her land, but there’s one rule she can’t break: To never kiss a man past midnight. After a time, she met a young warrior and they fell in love immediately. One night after midnight, the warrior whitout knowing anything about the pact, kissed the princess while her was asleep, and the curse soon doomed the entire kingdom, the princess lower body was turned into a giant crab, and her face flesh was ripped off showing her bones, serpents grow between her darkest hair and her non-stopping blood-lust for men begun, armed with a couple of golden Tumi knives, she killed almost every men on her way, so in her last remains of lucidity, she runs to lock herself on the underground tombs, she became a unique of her kind, a cursed killer, a crab queen of the dead who was cursed to rule her tombs forever”.

The post Let Me In first appeared on Corpz.]]> Me convocaron este año para participar por tercera vez de la exposición colectiva COMICS en Edición Limitada Nº6: EROTIQA, y nuevamente decidí desarrollar una ilustración desde cero, según la línea conceptual de la muestra.

Luego de un trabajoso proceso de investigación consistente en libar toda una noche con mi buen amigo David, decidí -para esta nueva ilustración- pasarme un poco de la raya entre el erotismo y lo explícito (que es válido desde ciertos puntos de vista), y plantié una composición donde juntaba a un zombie y una pornstar.

Evitando la gratuidad del dibujo, trabajé la composición para tenga la onda de una portada de revista, y para eso elegí a CREEPY Magazine, porque fue la primera revista de comics de horror que leí (y me fascinó) cuando tendría 6 o 7 años de edad.

La decisión de utilizar una pornstar no fue fácil, estaba entre Sasha Grey y Tracy Lords, hasta que me topé con unas muy buenas imágenes de la siempre genial ARIA GIOVANNI, la cual de inmediato se convirtió en el eje de mi proyecto, claro que con el plus de tener alas de demonio. Es así que comencé realizando un boceto rápido a lápiz.

Luego de escanear mi boceto, tenía que armar un montaje para dejar seteados algunos elementos que me dieran la sensación de estar frente a una portada de magazine, como el logo de Creepy.

Para poder manejar los elementos del layout, removí temporalmente las alas de demonio, lo que me dió espacio para replantear la diagramación y ordenar un poco todo para que pareciera más una portada, redibujé el logo de Creepy y hasta le metí una textura que encontré por ahi, de revista gastada.

Después de terminar de dibujar los lápices en vectores, haciendo una especie de “inking” vectorial, reemplacé al tío Creepy (el icónico personaje de este magazine) por uno de mis últimos zombies, personalizando de esa manera mi ilustración.

El siguiente paso fue aplicar texturas de halftones y scratch para algunas áreas y agregar más detalle y texturas, en las medias, en los personajes, y también cambiando ese bitmap de revista gastada por una textura vectorial.

Una vez que terminé la ilustración, ajusté todo para que se adapte a un formato de 60×40cm y mandarlo al taller para impresión.

Tratando de no ser tan evidente y bajarle un poco lo explícito para la exposición, utilicé la versión alternativa, que es menos sugerente utilizando grandes sombreados de negro entre las piernas.

Finalmente en el taller de enmarcado, pedí un marco de madera pintado de rojo con paspartú simple blanco y una lámina de vidrio mate para luego llevarlo a la galería.
